How Do You Isolate x in the Equation A = bx / (1-(1+x)^{-c})?

Hello I originally posted this on the pre-calculus board, but no answer Im trying to rearrange to find x from the below (all other values, A, b and c known) A = bx / 1-(1+x)^{-c} I've rearranged but to no avail, I'm unsure how to isolate x How would I go about this ...

    Solving for x with A, b, and c Given

Noted I've never come up against an equation like this before, just curious whether it can be solved for x ? (new skills) Is there a general solution to this type of equation ? Can you point me in the right direction ? Thanks very much

    Solving for x with A, b, and c Given

Hello, Im trying to rearrange to find x from the below (all other values, A, b and c known) A = bx / 1-(1+x)^-c Below denominator ending reads (1+x)^(-c) I've rearranged but to no avail, I'm unsure how to isolate x Any input much appreciated Thanks

Applications of math - Root finding

Hello, The formula comes from finance, however the question was posed from a purely mathematical point of view, how do we solve for i ? Rearranging comes to now avail, I tried replacing i in terms of known values (from other equations) but no outcome How would I go about solving for i...

Applications of math - Root finding

Hello, I came across the following formula after asking for practical applications of math in finance and other sciences, it concerns mortgage payments A = Pi/1-(1+i)^-n The above denominator end part reads (1+i)^(-n) As a mathematical question, is it possible to rearrange the...

Huygens' Principle: Exploring a Single Slit Experiment

Hello , as per diagram (attached) regarding Huygens slit experiment / diagram When the wave enters the slit - why does it form a number of point sources ? There are 6 as per the diagram, Are these the horizontal wavelengths of the electromagnetic waves ? Thanks, much appreciated

Arch-shaped Beams: Understanding Load Carrying Capability

If a beam is arched, how does this affect its load carrying capability ? Considering the same beam bent into two different formations (below) - which would be stronger ? (if any difference) 1. A long arch (horizontal distance between two ends) of low height (max vertical height of arch)...

    Rearranging Equations: Finding y in x = (y^3+1)/(y^2+1)

    I'm unsure how to release the x and y x = (y^3+1)/(y^2+1) x(y^2+1) = (y^3+1) (xy^2)+x = y^3+1 x-1 = (y^3) - (xy^2) ? Factoring (y^3+1) only creates (y+1)(y^2-y+1)
