Wave function for Hydrogen and Probability

Hey, if anyone can throw in some thoughts I am a little lost. Not sure If I need to integrate, or what. Thanks for any help. The wave function for a hydrogen atom in the 2 s state is:(attachment) I need to Calculate the probability that an electron in the 2 s state will be found at a...

Speed of Imperial Spaceship Relative to Arrakis: 0.964c

An imperial spaceship, moving at high speed relative to the planet Arrakis, fires a rocket toward the planet with a speed of 0.930{\it c} relative to the spaceship. An observer on Arrakis measures that the rocket is approaching with a speed of 0.330{\it c}. What is the speed of the spaceship...

How Does a Prism Affect the Angle Between Two Emerging Light Rays?

    I get angle(rads.)= arcsin(n*sin(theta))

How Does a Prism Affect the Angle Between Two Emerging Light Rays?

I assume you use n_1*sin(theta)=n_2*sin(theta_2). And since its 90 degrees, it would just be equal to 1, so I get 1=n_2*sin(theta_2) but I am afraid that I am assuming too much. Then you do it again for the light going out of the prism.

How Does a Prism Affect the Angle Between Two Emerging Light Rays?

A prism shown i has a refractive index of n, and the angles A are theta. Two light rays m and n are parallel as they enter the prism. What is the angle between them after they emerge?(In radians)

Find Your Center of Mass Solution: How Far Can You Move on a Floating Board?

Part of my problem for physics is finding how far a person can move along a floating board. The board is not acted on by any outside forces so the center of mass before the person starts moving and the center of mass afterwards stays the same. Their is no air friction on the board. The Person...

How Does the Center of Mass Affect Distance When a Dog Walks on a Boat?

The problem is a dog weighing 10lb is standing on a flatboat so that he is 20ft from the shore. He walks 8 ft on the boat toward shoare and then halts. The boat weighs 40 lb, and one can assume there is no friction between it and the water. How far is the dog from the shore at the end of this...

Finding Distance of Fragment After Shell Explosion - Center of Mass

Although this seems simple, I don't think I'm reading the problem right. Currently we are studying center of mass such as the velocity and position of the center of mass. The problem is a shell is fired from a gun with a muzzle velocity of 1500ft/s at an angle of 60 degrees with the...

How Does a Boy Sliding Down an Ice Mound Demonstrate Conservation of Energy?

if ur still here, although it makes sense, when i try to solve it i can't get h = 2R/3. i did END = START then the final potential energy + Fc = initial potential energy so my eq. looks like mgh + mgR/h = mgR i don't know if that's right but would appreciate your help one more time
