There kids in high school already taking advance math and science courses so that's where I am comming from, high school algebra II for exa is pretty much the same as college algebra, concepts such as factoring a cubic polynomial doesn't change. Same with high school physics courses, problems...
I did that and I got something like 1/2*Sqrt(a) by taking the lim as h->0, giving a slope of 1/4, but the answer is sopposed to be y=(1/20)*x+(1/5) can you please show me how they got this ?
By the way is that factor you posted called a conjugate ?
I need to find an equation for the tangent line to the graph of the function at the specified point, I had some trouble simplifing f(x) so that I can take the lim as h->0 which is the slope.
f(x) = Sqrt(x)/5 at (4,(2/5))

How many significant figures should be retained in the result of the following calculation.
(11.13 - 2.6) * 10^4
-----------------------
(103.05 + 16.9) * 10^-6
is it 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 or 5 ?

What about running the program in while booted dos mode, would it be accurate it that case ?
How would I use a windows api with turboC, are there any other methods for counting microseconds in turboC ?
Im using turboC so I don't have that fancy rtc.h library.
What about counting how many seconds a longer {loop(containing var=var+1) while var<1,000,000} will take using clock_t and then... dividing by the number of seconds for the entire sequence by 1,000,000 to get the number of seconds it...
In this program I am using I first declare clock_t start, stop then later position start and stop in a loop. To count how long a switch is turned on. The smallest value I see outputed is no lower than 0.05 sec but I want to be able to count miliseconds.
printf("pulse length is %f seconds\n"...
Sulfur forms two compounds with fluorine. In one of them it is observed that 0.447 g of sulfur is combined with 1.06 g of fluorine while in the other, 0.438 g of sulfur is combined with 1.56 g of fluorine. Show that these data illustrate the law of multiple proportions.
