AI Thread Summary
ExtenZe is marketed as a blood flow stimulator designed to enhance erection size by increasing blood flow to the penis, which can lead to growth in both length and girth. Users may experience noticeable changes within weeks. The product's infomercials avoid explicit terminology, which some find amusing or embarrassing. Concerns have been raised regarding potential side effects, including prolonged erections and associated health risks similar to those of prescription medications like Viagra. The primary active ingredient, L-arginine, is a natural amino acid that may aid in treating erectile dysfunction, although its efficacy as a standalone treatment is debated. Critics argue that many male enhancement products, including ExtenZe, rely on a combination of ingredients that may not produce significant results, often leading to skepticism about their claims. Overall, the discussion highlights a mix of curiosity, humor, and caution surrounding the use of male enhancement supplements.

How Does ExtenZe Work?
ExtenZe is a safe and effective blood flow stimulator that makes the most of your natural potential. The penis is made up of three erectile chambers. When aroused, blood flow increases into these chambers, and the outflow of blood is decreased, producing an erection. The more blood that is pushed into the chambers, the larger you can become.

ExtenZe helps force more blood flow so these chambers stretch, creating substantial growth in both length and girth. In just a few weeks, your penis can be larger.

Have you seen their half-hour infomercial on TV? It's amazing that they can go a whole half hour without using the word "penis" once!

First read I thought this could be painful. Who wants a penis that feels like it's going to explode.

I consider myself a modern woman, but I am just embarassed when viewing these commercials. They are so pathetic and sad.

Just wait until they come out with the equivalent, or "inverse" product for women.

We aren't going there, but consider what names might be used.

Well, the do have laser surgery for after childbirth.

Yes, and they can do a "tuck" in conjunction with other surgeries as well, but I haven't seen any informercials for that.

So, does this product leave you walking around with an erection all the time? That's the only effect that increasing blood flow to the penis is going to have. I don't know how they get away with selling this stuff. If it does work to enhance erection, then it should have all the same warnings as drugs like Viagra in terms of risks of stroke, heart attack, and that pesky priapism (though, it sounds like that's the goal from these ads ).

In the commercials for Viagra, when they state that anyone who experiences an erection for more than four hours should seek medical attention, I always think that given this criteria, as a teenager I would have spent a lot of time in the ER.

Really!?

I read an article which stated the warning was mostly marketing. There is a chance of that happening, but very rare. They include it because it makes the product seem powerful and what guy doesn't dream of a wonderful 4+ hour love making session ;)

The length of time spent making love is another issue; esp for a teenager, if you know what I mean.

Yes, perhaps I was oversexed, but I think I had an erection for about three years.

 I suspect it would "relax" a little in between, like when your mom walked into the room. Then again, in my early 20's, I had a boyfriend who had a 2 hour drive to visit me, and if I insisted on getting lunch before anything else, he just may have been getting close to that definition.

Of course, the side effect to worry about is more post-coital if there's no normal refractory period, or if you're no longer mentally aroused and physically things haven't deflated. It's more being concerned about venous drainage being defective.

Wouldn't a cold shower create a counter-acting flerg?

(Wow, I just learned that word and already found a situation where I could use it.)

"flerg" isn't an actual word.

According to the males I've polled on this question, cold showers just make you cold and aroused rather than warm and aroused.

All of the male enhancement products have the same ingredient. It is a natural amino acid called L arginine.

Don't ask me how I know,  , but you can get 60 capsules for about $20 at most health food and vitamin stores.

It has been available for at least ten years. By now I suppose it is made in China.

EDIT: It is a vasodialator.

Like OBAMA and McCain, this product promises a nude erection, er new direction, ah... er

Yah.. who needs it. And you never see commercials for those really gross and dangerous saline or silicone breast enhancement packs. Yeeesh.

EDIT: It is a vasodialator.

From the Mayo Clinic website, which is usually reliable for medical information:
Erectile dysfunction
Early studies have shown that arginine supplements may help treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men with low nitrate levels in their blood or urine. A combination of L-arginine, glutamate, and yohimbine hydrochloride has been used to treat ED. However, because a combination product was used, and yohimbine hydrochloride is an FDA-approved therapy for this condition, the effects of arginine alone are unknown. More research is needed with arginine alone.

if it's got yohimbine HCl in it, then it will definitely work for some people. it may also cause anxiety, which may be counterproductive for some.

arginine and related compounds may help some, but nothing like the effect Y has. Y is also an excellent diet drug as it enhances fat mobilization and will also enhance that "fright or flight" response and make running a whole lot more natural.

that's some gonzo marketing page for a competitive product, but...

the yohimbe will work (see above post), the tribulus may have some dopaminergic agonism which may help libido but not erection, i would avoid licorice generally it can reduce T, arginine may help some people. and I'm not familiar with most of the rest of it, but if that's the ingredients, it looks like a classical kitchen sink approach. it's nothing more than placebo because even if some of these goofy things did work, there's not enough of them individually to cause an effect. but if the customer has any belief that deer antler velvet works, then a microgram costs you little and gives them a warm fuzzy.

cold showers are a depression remedy, so they may make things worse over time.

What's with this ****? I thought the main problem was keeping the damn thing down!

  • #27
I'm waiting for a pill that lasts exactly 12 minutes then induces deep sleep for about 7 hours...that can be taken with HBP meds.

I had some guy call my store today to see if we sold it, lol. I'm glad he wasn't one of them that ask what it does, or what it's for...

  • #29
Isn't this the product that says,

"If it didn't work, why would we be selling it?"

Implied: therefore, it works.

Never stated: "It works."

I was under the impression it is supposed to make men bigger, not last longer. I would like to hear an honest person that has tried it say it actually made them bigger (as in longer not wider). Not that it matters if it does because it's like Rogaine, stop using it and the effect disappears if there is one. There is a way to tell if they are telling the truth too. There are things men who actually are bigger know that those less endowed don't.

that's just marketing speak. they don't qualify what "bigger" (actually "larger" comes to mind from that commercial) actually means. for someone with ED, "bigger" than you are when flaccid is all that matters. if a few dupes without ED also think that it might mean longer or wider, then all the better for sales. but they don't actually say longer.
