SUMMARY

Plantur 39 is marketed as a solution for menopausal hair loss, utilizing a patented phyto-caffeine complex developed by Dr. Wolff R&D in collaboration with the University Clinic Jena. This complex includes caffeine, zinc, niacin, and phytoflavonoids from soy and black cohosh, aimed at counteracting testosterone's negative effects on hair roots. However, skepticism exists regarding the validity of their claims, as the referenced studies appear to lack robust scientific backing and may only include preliminary clinical trials.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of phyto-caffeine complex and its components
  • Familiarity with the effects of DHT (dihydrotestosterone) on hair loss
  • Knowledge of clinical trial methodologies and their significance
  • Awareness of menopausal hair loss and its biological mechanisms
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the efficacy of caffeine in hair loss treatments through clinical studies
  • Explore the role of DHT in hair follicle health and rejuvenation
  • Investigate alternative treatments for menopausal hair loss, including hormonal therapies
  • Review the latest findings on phytoflavonoids and their impact on hair health
USEFUL FOR

Women experiencing menopausal hair loss, dermatologists, trichologists, and anyone interested in the scientific validation of hair loss treatments.

Hope for women suffering from hair loss
Phyto-caffeine complex against hair loss discovered – Clinical tests prove its effect

In collaboration with the dermatological institute of the University Clinic Jena, Dr. Wolff R&D has discovered novel properties of caffeine, which can prevent the negative effect of testosterone in the hair root.
The Dr. Wolff laboratories developed and patented a new phyto-caffeine complex especially against hair loss in women after menopause, which contains caffeine, zinc and niacin as well as an active ingredient combination from phytoflavonoids of the soy plant and black cohosh (Cimicifuga).

What study? I looked at their "research" page and it was all fluff.

They are running a commercial on the television, so I'm expecting people to come to me and ask about the validity. Sure I have a hard head and likely the research is fluff, but I'll have to come up with a good explanation when I'm asked why it would not be effective.

I looked and couldn't find the "study".

Their claim of penetration could be based on this
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18523412

another company claiming the same?
http://www.anagen.net/caffeine3.htm

using
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/?term=17396054

How much you want to bet that is the referred to study - probably only a clinical 1 trial

The other question is, does caffeine hinder hair loss and.or promote rejuvination of hair follicles

best I can do.
Hope it helps

PS: reseach centre, but Germain language looks easy

Thanks 256! it seems there was a study that showed direct applications of caffeine to the scalp helps blocks the damaging effects of DHT. I guess I will crush up some caffeine pills and add it to my hair lotion!
