Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on finding a program capable of drawing 3D graphs, specifically for the equations z = 2x^2 + y^2 and x^2/9 + y^2/9 + z^2/16 = 1. Participants recommend using online tools such as GeoGebra and Desmos, which support 3D graphing functionalities. These tools allow users to visualize generating curves and ruling effectively, making them suitable for educational and professional purposes.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of 3D graphing concepts
  • Familiarity with mathematical equations and functions
  • Basic knowledge of online graphing tools
  • Experience with visualizing mathematical models
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore GeoGebra 3D Graphing Tool for advanced graphing capabilities
  • Learn to use Desmos for interactive 3D function visualization
  • Research techniques for identifying generating curves in 3D space
  • Study the mathematical principles behind ruling curves in 3D graphs

I'm looking for a program which can draw 3D graphs which can identify the generating curves and ruling.

i'm trying to draw up these 2 graphs

z = 2x^2 + y^2

x^2/9 + y^2/9 + z^2/16 = 1

any ideas?
