A little help with vector calculus

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion centers on the application of vector calculus in describing electric fields and equipotential surfaces, emphasizing that this topic falls under physics rather than pure mathematics. Participants highlight the complexity of the subject, noting that it encompasses extensive theoretical frameworks found in physics textbooks. The consensus is that a more focused question would yield better assistance, as the topic is too broad for a single forum post.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of vector calculus principles
  • Familiarity with electric field concepts
  • Knowledge of equipotential surfaces
  • Basic physics background
NEXT STEPS
  • Study the relationship between electric fields and potential energy in physics
  • Explore vector calculus applications in electromagnetism
  • Review chapters on electric fields in standard physics textbooks
  • Investigate specific problems involving equipotential surfaces and their properties
USEFUL FOR

Students of physics, educators teaching electromagnetism, and anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of vector calculus in the context of electric fields.

How can I describe electric fields and equipotential surfaces using Vector calculus?? HELP...

First that is not a mathematics question, it is a physics question so you would be better posting it in a physics sub-forum.

Second, it is far too broad. There are whole chapters of physics texts devoted to it.
