A car has a mass of 1200kg and delivers a total of 2300Nm of torque.
Tyre radius of 0.306m.
What is the acceleration of the car in m/s^2?
What is the speed of the car if it has accelerated for 11 seconds? (determained in first question),


I have looked at a few and still a bit stuck.
A=m*R
and then convert to m/s^2
or
W=(fcos theta)(d)

Attepted both and seem to still be getting the wrong answer..
A= 1200*0.306
= 367.2m/s^2

or
W=(2300cos45)(0.306*2)
= (1626.35)(0.612)
= 995.3262

As you can see i am well off the right answer. I am more incline to think it is the equation A=m*R...
Please help!

How many Newtons of force are applied to the auto when when 2300n-m of torque are applied to a tire of 0.306m radius?

Newtons of force... Would that be the mass...? soo 1200kg or 11767.98 N.

In the MKS system, force is measured in Newtons, mass is measured in kilograms.

Is there any way that i can figure this out with the given information..?

I have the understand torque is the mesument of power around a pivot point...
I am not entirly sure, this is proberbly why i am haveing trouble with the question..

You need to read a good physics book and find out what torque really is. Then the answer to my question in post #2 will become clear.
