SUMMARY

To accurately bend pipes, a draftsman must provide the radius of curvature and the angle of the bend. Additionally, specifying a tolerance for both the radius and angle is crucial for ensuring precision in the bending process. This information is essential for achieving the desired results in pipe bending projects.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of pipe bending techniques
  • Knowledge of radius of curvature
  • Familiarity with angle measurement
  • Ability to specify tolerances in engineering drawings
NEXT STEPS
  • Research pipe bending standards and specifications
  • Learn about tolerance specifications in engineering
  • Explore tools for measuring angles and radii accurately
  • Investigate software for drafting pipe bending designs
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for draftsmen, engineers, and anyone involved in pipe bending and fabrication processes, particularly those focused on precision and accuracy in their designs.

Hi everyone,
Im a draftsman that has to give a drawing for pipe bending, what information is needed so the pipe can be bent accurately?

Thanks

Assuming the pipe itself has been properly specified, you will need the radius of curvature of the bend and the angle of the bend.

If accuracy matters you had better specify a tolerance for the radius and angle.
