Anolok (dark brown) finish to terminate laser beam

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

Using anodized aluminum with anolok (dark brown) finish to terminate laser beams is acceptable, but it is contingent upon the laser's power and wavelength. While black anodized aluminum is the standard choice, the anolok finish can be utilized effectively in specific scenarios. Users must evaluate the laser specifications to ensure compatibility and performance.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of laser power ratings
  • Knowledge of laser wavelengths
  • Familiarity with anodized aluminum finishes
  • Experience with material properties in laser applications
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the effects of different anodized aluminum finishes on laser performance
  • Investigate the relationship between laser power and material compatibility
  • Learn about the properties of various anodized aluminum colors and their thermal effects
  • Explore case studies on laser termination materials in industrial applications
USEFUL FOR

Engineers, laser technicians, and materials scientists involved in laser applications and seeking to optimize termination materials for specific laser setups.

Is it ok to use anodized aluminum with anolok (dark brown) finish to terminate laser beams? Most use black anodized aluminum, but can the former be used instead?

It depends on the power of the laser, and to some extent its wavelength.
