Overall, you scored as follows:

52% scored higher (more nerdy), and
48% scored lower (less nerdy).

What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:

Somewhat nerdy. I mean face it, you are nerdier than about half the test takers.

So true, in fact I think I'm more nerdy than testing would indicate, but what is your nerdiness level?

Me too. And I had problems with that. If the test took that into account, I'd be forgiven for knowing my IP address. :-p

You lie dude you lie! No homework helper of your quality could get that score. I bet you have a telescope and a microscope at least.

I have a different IP every time I boot up: it's dynamic, but saying that even if I did know it, it would only be to use in direct IP gaming between a few friends. Hold on I am a big nerd:smile:

EDIT: indeed but consider the nerdiness of those taking the test?

:blushing: Thanks (I think)

Still, there was no lying in my test. I have neither a microscope nor a telescope. I think the fact that I know hardly anything about computers probably "helped" me!

cristo, despite what those scores say, I know you are KING nerd :)

I got:
13% scored higher (more nerdy), and
87% scored lower (less nerdy).

Me too. I don't own a telescope or a microscope, nor do have a periodic chart hanging anywhere, and I am a very good dancer. Those graduate-level math classes must have given me a big boost on the ol' nerdometer.

Good thing this question wasn't on the list:
You found out about this test by
  • Reading about it on MySpace
  • Seeing some nerd take it at a coffee shop
  • Seeing some nerd take it at the library
  • Reading about it on Physics Forums

I do have both a microscope and a telescope in the house. When I was younger, a great deal of my time was taken up by making my own slides.

Wow, I thought I'd rank a little lower than that considering you'd have to have a certain baseline level of nerdiness to even take the test! :bugeye:

Yey there are people more nerdy than me. I guess its for those who can tell Charles Darwin from James Clerk Maxwell :-p

God I only got 52% scored higher, I'm starting to feel bad about not owning a microscope or a telescope, and having a social life?

isnt this a little like asking "how conservative are you?" on the NRA website?

No it's exactly like that.

I just wanted to see how I compare.

Actually to be honest I thought it'd be a giggle.

I think my microscope is still at my parents' house. I haven't used it a good 15 years, though.

Maybe I'm getting less nerdy (doubt it), but for the first time ever, I can't remember what processor my desktop computer has. And while I've never known my IP address, I do have my work IP on a post-it in my wallet...

If I didn't have a dynamic IP I'd know the address. Aw :frown:

  • #40
11% more nerdy, 89% less nerdy. High level nerd.

  • #41
Not only do I know my IP address, but I also know what an IP address is in fact I even have an x25 address, but I am hardly a nerd, more of a geek:
24% scored higher (more nerdy), and
76% scored lower (less nerdy).

5% scored higher (more nerdy),
0% scored the same, and
95% scored lower (less nerdy).

I wish they told how they weight the different responses.

I think that having a static IP address in order to know it is what really gains the nerd points there.

You can still know the range, like mine starts with 80.42.163 or something like that. I got 78th percentile.

6% scored higher (more nerdy),

I had to lie on the calculator question. TI was my favorite among those listed, but I personally like the Pickett N4-ES Hyperbolic Dual Base Speed Rule.

I think the test discriminates against the analog crowd.

  • #50
10% scored higher (more nerdy),
1% scored the same, and
89% scored lower (less nerdy).

Considering I made my own Telescope (5 or 6 of them actually) and microscope, I should have thought I would have scored higher. I think I lost points because I have friends.
