In summary, thought experiments play a crucial role in understanding scientific concepts by allowing researchers to explore and test theories in a controlled and hypothetical scenario. They provide a way to think outside the box and challenge traditional assumptions, leading to new insights and breakthroughs in scientific understanding. By using thought experiments, scientists can better conceptualize complex concepts and gather evidence to support or refute their hypotheses. They also serve as a tool for communicating and visualizing ideas to a wider audience, making science more accessible and engaging.

I prefer thought experiments to absolute values. I am TERRIBLE at math (several seizures decimated my ability in that arena) but love science, and want to gather up my remaining braincells and learn what I can. I'm an enthusiastic conversant and even more enthusiastic about thinking in general. Obligatory introduction terminated.
