AI Thread Summary
The probability of being born on a specific date, such as a grandfather's 73rd birthday, is generally low, as it depends on various factors including the timing of births. However, if the individual is indeed the 73rd grandchild out of 85, the coincidence of these two events could seem more likely. The discussion suggests that while the odds might feel high, they are not nearly 100% due to the randomness of birth dates. Calculating the exact probability would require more statistical analysis. Overall, the situation presents an interesting intersection of family dynamics and chance.

I'm guessing, but I'd say it's pretty certain. Nearly 100%. Am I right?

I was reading documentation about the soundness and completeness of logic formal systems. Consider the following $$\vdash_S \phi$$ where ##S## is the proof-system making part the formal system and ##\phi## is a wff (well formed formula) of the formal language. Note the blank on left of the turnstile symbol ##\vdash_S##, as far as I can tell it actually represents the empty set. So what does it mean ? I guess it actually means ##\phi## is a theorem of the formal system, i.e. there is a...
