Hello from Vietnam,
I could say that I was a very passionate software engineer in the past years, but probably no more now. I suddenly got a huge interest in mechanics and physics and have digged deep over the past days on refrigeration, cooling, steam engine, energy etc.
There are just some new machines on my mind that I really want to make. It even looks like I'm going to shift my focus to an entirely unfamiliar thing.
Am I not being loyal to my profession? Am I doing a stupid thing?

I don't think it's stupidity. It's just that you're being curious..and being curious is good. :)
But well, you're a software engineer and thinking about stuffs related to mechanical engineer really sounds absurd.

Hello fellow Physics enthusiasts, I am an aeronautical engineering graduate (Bachelor's) who is interested in Physics and Mathematics, and I have been re-learning all the basics. I wanted to join a science forum, especially one dedicated to Physics and maths, to apply these subjects to my engineering studies. I hope to learn a lot through this forum. Thank you for your warm welcome.
