I think that "grimace" is the Flehmen response.
 
Well, he also makes a symbolic gesture of pushing away one of the more inquisitive cubs with his paw, so I settle for general grumpiness instead.
 
Maybe he doesn't like the way they smell :biggrin:.

Why do those little guys being stinky make them even cuter to me?
 
Perhaps they smell "unavaible lioness"?
