Can Forums Help High School Students Pursue a Career in Physics?

I am an 11th grader in high school with a great interest in learning physics and perhaps one day pursuing a career in research whether it be on the theoretical or experimental side.

I've always found that forums are more informative than general blind google-research and allow me to interact with knowledgeable people who can answer questions and provide useful resources. I'd classify myself as a total novice right now but as I learn more and get a better grasp on the subject, I'd be more than happy to help others and contribute new information.
