MMM! I'd kill for some fried green tomaters.

Yikes! Quick, someone get MIH some tomaters before something terrible happens!

Pesonally, I'm not into health foods.
Much better.

wwhh.. whoa!

mmmm, fried green tomatoes and fried pickles! I can't get either of those here. :frown:

Fried Twinkies!

When Paula Deen deep fried an entire layer cake, I thought I was going to die.

tomatos?

I had to see for myself what Paula did. It must be this recipe:

http://recipes.pauladeen.com/index....r_cake_with_cream_cheese_and_orange_frosting/
Dip 1 of the cake layers in the batter and gently place it in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crisp, about 4 minutes per side. Transfer to a paper towel lined platter to drain. Repeat with the 2nd cake layer. Let the fried cakes cool slightly and then frost the top of 1 layer. Place the 2nd layer on top of it and frost. Don’t frost the sides, it will be pretty to see the layers of frosting and crispy fried cake.

Deep fried cake? Why not just get hypodermics of straight cholesterol and directly inject?

Deep fried Twinkie and follow it up with chocolate covered lard (bacon if lard is not immediately available)? A dollop of heavy cream? Paula eat your heart out.

They taste better of you trim off the 'e' before you deep fry them.

You haven't seen the battered and deep fried bacon served with cream gravy?

At Risque Cafe, 3419 N. Clark, country-fried bacon ($6) is on the appetizer menu. Raw bacon strips are put in an egg wash, dredged in a heavily peppered flour and then deep fried in vegetable oil, says chef Andrew Niemeyer.

A white gravy is served on the side.

I think those are called donuts.

Another favorite at the county fairs here in the West are deep fried oreos.

The truth is that I've never tried any of this. I thought my nachos were bad!

I'm sorry, but that is just too nasty to consider.

That sounds like an Al Qeada plot for food terrorism.

Either that or a Pfizer scheme promoting the sales of Lipitor.

And the purpose of the powdered sugar ...? To encourage more of the oil to adhere to the fried dough?

I wonder if there is a way to deep fry cole slaw.

County fairs have got to have the unhealthiest food in the world. Deep fried funnel cakes, fried ice cream, fried candy bars... You don't see people lining up at the raw broccoli stand.

Yes, candy bars; I knew there was another example of "food porn" that I'd heard about.

Deep fried Snickers bars.

But I must confess to being a fan of fried ice cream. They serve it at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants.

Ooh! Deep-fried lard bricks breaded with cheese and bread crumbs! Southerners would line up for that!

I was never even as close to as hot as Tommy on acoustic, but when the weather was bad, etc, I could keep people in the tavern (waiting for other blues-jam denizens) with vocals and some hot licks. Tommy Emmanuel is a monster.

In addition to his career as a dessert-chef, Mr. Buda also drives a 40 tonne truck for relaxation.

Sounds like quite a character!

the sandwich at the earl was great, and came with its own dipping sauce.

if white castle is as much like Krystals as i imagine, then they are only good when stoned and making a 2 a.m. food run, fried or not.

I guess in that state of mind anything can be considered for consumption.

WOW. I would think your body would require a complete overhaul. My arteries and heart say no, but I say yes.

I love the rationale: What's good for yeh? Your own body will tell you what's good for yeh.

The problem is that our bodies crave what was good for us when we were essentially wild animals trying to survive; when it was difficult to get enough energy from our meager diets.

Of course the exception to this rule is nachos. Isn't there even a minimum recommended daily allowance for nachos?

I think I've been to that place, but I can't remember the menu. Is the sandwich you had like a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monte_Cristo_sandwich" ?
