AI Thread Summary
Particle-antiparticle annihilation results in the production of photons, specifically in the gamma region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Photons can be generated from various sources, not just from vibrating electrons or atomic transitions. Any accelerating charge, including protons, can produce electromagnetic radiation. Most nuclear reactions are associated with gamma ray production. Thus, photons are produced through multiple mechanisms beyond just electron vibrations.

are photons only generated from vibrating electrons? only from atomic transitions?

Any accelerating charge produces electromagnetic radiation. This can be protons too (as during production of gamma rays).

Most nuclear reactions involve gamma ray production.
