Hi all,

I am a retired chemist with an interest in physics and a desire to firm up my understandings of physics/physical chemistry subjects and tackle areas of physics to which I was little exposed as an undergraduate, grad student or post-doc. I worked for many years for DuPont in the area of diagnostic chemistry and have published in that area and on studies of chemical kinetics/mechanism. Some of the topics on which I have questions (in my dotage I guess) relate to relativity and thermodynamics (especially entropy).

Hello everyone, I was advised to join this community while seeking guidance on how to navigate the academic world as an independent researcher. My name is Omar, and I'm based in Groningen The Netherlands. My formal physics education ended after high school, but I have dedicated the last several years to developing a theoretical framework from first principles. My work focuses on a topological field theory (which I call Swirl-String Theory) that models particles as knotted vortex...
