Find Center of Gravity for a Wheelchair

AI Thread Summary
Calculating the center of gravity for a wheelchair can be achieved through mathematical modeling by treating the wheelchair as a collection of individual components. By determining the mass and center of mass for each part, one can compute the overall center of mass for the entire structure. This method relies on the principle that the center of mass is the weighted average of the centers of mass of the individual pieces. It's important to note that the terms "center of mass" and "center of gravity" are often used interchangeably, but they apply under uniform gravitational conditions. Accurate calculations will enhance stability and performance in wheelchair design.

Hello I was wondering is it possible to figure out the center of gravity for a wheelchair through calculation alone and how is it done? Thanks!

The center of mass is often called the center of gravity, but this is only true in a system where the gravitational forces are uniform.

If you wanted, you could model the chair as a set of pieces. If you knew the mass (and center of mass) of each piece, you could then find the center of mass of all the pieces together (using the definition of center of mass). Good luck.

So I know that electrons are fundamental, there's no 'material' that makes them up, it's like talking about a colour itself rather than a car or a flower. Now protons and neutrons and quarks and whatever other stuff is there fundamentally, I want someone to kind of teach me these, I have a lot of questions that books might not give the answer in the way I understand. Thanks
