Find the equation of the line tangent to the graph of y=x^2 at the point (1/2,1/4)

and how to find that?

Use the derivative of y=x^2 to find the slope. If you have a slope and a point, can't you find the equation? Isn't it in your textbook someplace? You have to show an effort to solve the problem before anyone can help you.

i found the y'=2x so m=1. But I wrote the wrong equation which is y=x+1/4.

The equation is (y-1/4)=1*(x-1/2) isn't it? As in (y-y0)=m*(x-x0) where m is the slope and (x0,y0) is the point??
