Denis received a warning for going off topic, but that seems to be rather self indulgent behaviour by those who should know better.:smile:
My topic has been completely subsumed by discussions about dimensions, measuring etc.
So much so that I have started a new thread to continue my topic...

@Grimble you are the OP, it is largely up to you to maintain focus. Ask a clear and focused question and object to off topic posts as early as possible. Your threads wander because you do neither of those.

I have never seen before on PF a thread with so many posts as that thread.
 
I want to thank those members who interacted with me a couple of years ago in two Optics Forum threads. They were @Drakkith, @hutchphd, @Gleb1964, and @KAHR-Alpha. I had something I wanted the scientific community to know and slipped a new idea in against the rules. Thank you also to @berkeman for suggesting paths to meet with academia.
