Have you seen the meteoric smoke-ring?

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around a time-lapse video showcasing a rare meteor phenomenon, described as a "meteoric smoke-ring." The video features 120 consecutive 30-second exposures, presenting the event at approximately 360 times normal speed. Participants express fascination with the rarity of capturing such an occurrence on film and speculate about the interaction between the meteor and atmospheric conditions. Questions arise regarding the nature of the event, including whether the meteor exploded and if similar phenomena occur with most meteors. The overall tone reflects excitement and curiosity about this unique visual spectacle.

TL;DR Summary: In 3 years, the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) telescope (or rather, a system of telescopes) should be put into operation. In case of failure to detect alien signals, it will further expand the radius of the so-called silence (or rather, radio silence) of the Universe.
