Help me to choose an Aeronautical Engineering School Please

Click For Summary
Choosing an aeronautical engineering school involves considering several factors, including academic reputation, financial implications, and geographical preferences. The discussion highlights several top institutions: Imperial College London, UCLA, Georgia Tech, Purdue, University of Illinois at Urbana, UC Davis (noted for offering a scholarship), UC San Diego, and the University of Virginia. Georgia Tech is recognized as a leading choice, even above Purdue and Illinois, which are also highly regarded. The importance of financial aid and location is emphasized, with some participants suggesting UC Davis due to the scholarship opportunity. Concerns about the livability of Atlanta are mentioned, indicating that while academics are crucial, the surrounding environment also plays a significant role in the decision-making process.

Help me to choose an Aeronautical Engineering School Please!

Hello everyone!

I am currently on my final year in high school and I am trying to choose between colleges which accepted me to study aeronautical engineering.
I will be glad if you can advise me. My choices are Imperial College London in UK; UCLA, Georgia Tech, Purdue, Illinois at Urbana, UC Davis( with scholarship), UC San Diego and University of Virginia.

I really need opinions on this subject! Thank you!

Having no knowledge about the UK school, I would heavily lean towards the University of Illinois or Purdue; both are exceptional engineering schools. Georgia Tech is even above both of schools, though. It seems that you have a lot of options - are finances a problem? Does geographical location matter?

I'd go to Davis if that is the only place you have a scholarship.

Everybody says that Atlanta is a boring city even if academics is the most important factor for me location is crucial too.

What about UCLA?

Hi all, Hope you are doing well. I'm a current grad student in applied geophysics and will finish my PhD in about 2 years (previously did a HBSc in Physics, did research in exp. quantum optics). I chose my current field because of its practicality and its clear connection to industry, not out of passion (a clear mistake). I notice that a lot of people (colleagues) switch to different subfields of physics once they graduate and enter post docs. But 95% of these cases fall into either of...
