SUMMARY

The discussion centers around creating a driver for a pin connection in Pro-E (Pro/ENGINEER) Student Version 2001 to restrict the range of motion for an animation. The user encountered issues with the default positive angle direction not aligning with their desired configuration, despite using the 'flip' option. Ultimately, the user resolved the issue independently, highlighting the challenges of navigating legacy software functionalities.

PREREQUISITES
  • Pro/ENGINEER (Pro-E) Student Version 2001 familiarity
  • Understanding of assembly constraints and motion drivers
  • Knowledge of animation techniques within CAD software
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for legacy software
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore advanced assembly constraints in Pro/ENGINEER
  • Learn about motion analysis tools in Pro/ENGINEER
  • Research best practices for creating animations in CAD software
  • Investigate user forums for legacy software troubleshooting tips
USEFUL FOR

This discussion is beneficial for CAD designers, mechanical engineers, and students working with Pro/ENGINEER, particularly those dealing with assembly animations and motion constraints in older software versions.

Hopefully someone here can help me... I'm almost at my wit's end

I'm trying to build a driver for a pin connection in an assembly so that I can restrict the range of motion and make an animation

When I select the connection, the default positive angle direction is not the way that I want it. I hit the 'flip' option, and it flips the positive direction, but then when I go into the 'select zero' menu, it acts as if the positive direction is the default. Since I want to define the range of motion, whatever I select ends up as allowing everything other than what I want.

It's driving (no pun intended) me crazy.

Attached is the picture. Basically, I want the long bar to extend outward (to the right).

If it makes a difference, I'm using v2001 student.
