Hi everyone!

I am a land and water management and GIS (geographic information system) specialist from the Netherlands. I finished my studies a few months ago and now I am starting my first job. They hired me specifically for my expertise in remote sensing. Well, I followed one course (6 credits) in remote sensing (though it was a really good one) and I used remote sensing in my thesis, so that expertise is a bit limited. However, the others in the group have no knowledge of remote sensing at all and the demand for some expertise at this university is huge so I guess the saying "in the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king" applies here. I am confident in my ability to adapt and learn. I think learning can be done much more effectively with other people (and learning together is more fun as well). That desire brought me here! Also, I am interested in other topics related to physics as well, I love to learn about how the universe works!

I expect to ask a lot of questions here, but I hope to (try to) answer your questions as well. Of course I don't know everything, but I love to struggle with questions and see what I can come up with, as that is a great way to learn. Specifically, if anyone has any interest in GIS/remote sensing, feel free to contact me!

Cheers,
Fjarkönnun
