How Can I Find Intellectual Stimulation Through Online Forums?

How did you find PF?
Stumbled across it while searching for an area that allows people with similar interest in various topics to connect, share information, and engage with one another in vigorous and thoughtful conversation.

Naturally, such a place could only be found with the most extensive care, requiring the use of the most prestigious and revered research method.

An eight second Google search.
As a person who loves intense discussion and debate, having a decidedly short list of peers willing to engage in such a way over topics like math, science, and etcetera, can be discouraging. By turning to these forums, my ultimate goal is to finally participate in a different sort of conversation. One with the ability to ignite fires of creativity and knowledge. I do not claim to be an expert in any field(or in forums themselves to be quite honest), and for that I apologize to those with more professional qualifications; Feel free to correct where you see fit. All I can offer at the moment is my desire to learn from and connect with those bearing comparable levels of curiosity. What I may lack in experience, you'll find it compensated for in passion, perspective, and a raging desire to learn. To all whom it concerns, may we fuel each other's flames.

Welcome to PhysicsForums. A desire to learn is a great thing!

Please do keep in mind that we discuss mainstream science here, and prefer that discussions be started and based on links to mainstream science sources that folks have been reading. Enjoy the forums!

Hello everyone, I was advised to join this community while seeking guidance on how to navigate the academic world as an independent researcher. My name is Omar, and I'm based in Groningen The Netherlands. My formal physics education ended after high school, but I have dedicated the last several years to developing a theoretical framework from first principles. My work focuses on a topological field theory (which I call Swirl-String Theory) that models particles as knotted vortex...
