i have read that light is made up of photons how does similar photons can produce lights of different colours(pardon me if this appears a silly question to u
The color of a photon depends on its wavelength [itex]\lambda[/itex] or frequency [itex]f[/itex] or energy [itex]E[/itex] (take your pick). They're all related to each other:
[tex]c = \lambda f[/tex]
[tex]E = hf[/tex]
[tex]E = hc / \lambda[/tex]
where [itex]c[/itex] is the speed of light and [itex]h[/itex] is Planck's constant.
