SUMMARY

To achieve a 5-second gradual start and stop for a 500-watt DC brushed motor, utilizing a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) controller is essential. PWM allows for smooth acceleration and deceleration, effectively controlling the motor's speed over the desired time frame. Implementing this technique ensures optimal performance and longevity of the motor.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) principles
  • Familiarity with DC brushed motor specifications
  • Basic knowledge of motor control circuits
  • Experience with electronic speed controllers (ESCs)
NEXT STEPS
  • Research PWM controller options for DC brushed motors
  • Explore circuit design for gradual motor acceleration and deceleration
  • Learn about electronic speed controllers (ESCs) compatible with 500-watt motors
  • Investigate programming techniques for implementing PWM in motor control
USEFUL FOR

Electronics enthusiasts, hobbyists working on motor control projects, and engineers designing systems requiring precise motor speed management will benefit from this discussion.

Does anyone know how to make a motor have a 5 second gradual start, and 5 second gradual stop? 500watt dc brushed motor.

I think a Pulse Width Modulation controller would be best. It would provide a smooth start and acceleration and smooth slow down and stop.
