Bug How to Fix Google Ads Covering Up Quotes on Forums?

AI Thread Summary
Google Ads are obscuring quotes in forum threads when viewed without being logged in, particularly affecting the visibility of quoted text in the first post. Users report this issue on multiple browsers, including Google Chrome and Firefox 3.5, with similar rendering problems. In Internet Explorer 7, the quoted text is moved below the ad, which is seen as an improvement but still not ideal. A preferred solution would be to have the quoted text wrap around the ad, similar to how regular text behaves. This issue impacts user experience and visibility of important content in forum discussions.

When viewing the forum without being logged in, if there are any quotes in the top few inches of the first post of a thread, they are covered up by the "Ad's by Google".

I'm currently using Google Chrome in Windows Vista.

In IE7 on the same machine it moves the quote down to the bottom of the ad. This is better than the first one, but I think it would be better if the quoted text just spaced around the ad, like the regular text does.

This issue exists in Firefox 3.5 as well. It renders identically to Google Chrome.

I had something I wanted the scientific community to know and slipped a new idea in against the rules. Thank you also to @berkeman for suggesting paths to meet with academia. Anyway, I finally got a paper on the same matter as discussed in those forum threads, the fat lens model, got it peer-reviewed, and IJRAP...
About 20 years ago, in my mid-30s (and with a BA in economics and a master's in business), I started taking night classes in physics hoping to eventually earn the science degree I'd always wanted but never pursued. I found physics forums and used it to ask questions I was unable to get answered from my textbooks or class lectures. Unfortunately, work and life got in the way and I never got further the freshman courses. Well, here it is 20 years later. I'm in my mid-50s now, and in a...
