Well - oh my stars & garters! I'm published!

(Five maritime-themed short stories of fantastical fiction set in the deep past, present and far future).

(Kobo ebook for now, coming to Kindle/Amazon soon.)

Sweet!
Self-published electronically?
How did you like the publishing process?
How did you arrive at the price?

Through following some links from that one in post #1, you seem to have participated in the writing of other books, too, and not just fiction.

I'll give it a read. Not a good start with Kobo, created account, six attempts to sign in and a password reset finally got me that far. Entered my payment method, downloaded Kobo reader to phone, but tried to buy the book from the laptop where I started - got oops, try later over and over.

Fortunately it did work, after a bunch more steps via the mobile phone app.

Note that I can be hard to please!

No. There are other Dave Collins authors.
I only saw that after my publication went live, so I've gone back and changed my name to Dave F. Collins.

Sorry, I cant speak to their purchasing system. My account is linked directly to my reader, so for me it's almost one-touch purchasing.

But yeah, if you give it a read I'd love to get your feedback. (And don't sugarcoat it. I can't improve if I don't know what I'm doing wrong.)

So it happened! Congrats! Looking forward to reading it!

EDIT: You really have a way with the maritime stuff. Your stories merit publishing on that fact alone, IMHO. I'm not saying that's your only trick, it just impressed me.

Yup. I'll do Amazon next. And then print-to-order.

It took a little getting used to. But honestly can't complain.

Just seemed about right.

Thanks in no small part to your input!

They say write what you know, so I leaned into that.

I am already thinking about my next stories. Not sure if the next one will be another maritime-theme or a Jules Verneian outer space-fantasy.

If I go with a sci-fi theme, I've already got the name of the anthology: There are No Atheists in Wormholes.

"... of the anthology: There are No Atheists in Wormholes."

Just googled it for zero results...think I'd actually buy it.
