Is Distance Learning for Physics the Right Choice for 'Mature' Students?

Hi - I'm a 'mature' student, living in Auckland. I decided to do an honors in Physics by distance learning (UNISA). Look like a strong & entertaining syllabus, but I am - as expected - kinda rusty, especially with Maths. So this forum looks like gold dust to me ;-)

A word of advice to those studying by correspondence: mention that fact when you ask on the forums for help, so those who reply will realize you can't readily "ask your professor for clarification" of some point.

Hello everyone, I'm Cosmo. I'm an 18 years old student majoring in physics. I found this forum cause I was searching on Google if it's common for physics student to feel like they're in the wrong major in the first semester cause it feels like too much for me to learn the materials even the ones that are considered as "basic math" or "basic physics", I've initial fascination with the universe's mysteries and it disconnect with the reality of intense, foundational mathematics courses required...
