Looking for an Electric Field Simulator: Any Recommendations?

SUMMARY

The discussion centers around the search for effective electric field simulation software that allows users to visualize electric field lines and their interactions with charged objects. Users recommend several online applets, including Caltech's EField, Surendranath's Electricity Field Lines, and Falstad's EM Static. However, the original poster seeks a more robust PC-based application that enables the drawing of physical objects and simulates their electric fields in proximity to one another. The need for interactive and detailed simulations is emphasized.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of electric fields and potential theory
  • Familiarity with 2D and 3D modeling concepts
  • Basic knowledge of charged particles and their behavior in electric fields
  • Experience with simulation software interfaces
NEXT STEPS
  • Research PC-based electric field simulation software such as COMSOL Multiphysics
  • Explore open-source options like OpenFOAM for electric field simulations
  • Learn about finite element analysis (FEA) techniques for electric field modeling
  • Investigate educational tools like PhET Interactive Simulations for electric fields
USEFUL FOR

Students, educators, and researchers in physics or engineering fields who require visualization tools for electric fields and their interactions with charged objects.

Hello, could anyone please point me out a good software/simulation program in which I could make 3d or 2d , better both objects and then apply potential to them and simulate electric field lines and see the directions to which the field is more intense etc etc.
Just some nice simulation software which would help me visualize certain objects with certain shapes and how the field develops around them once charged.
I need to see how it affects charged particles near those objects.
I did some google search but had no luck with a software that would suit my needs.
Maybe someone can point me in a right direction from their experience.
Thank you.
Happy New Year.

Thanks for the reply , well I needed more of a pc based software that I could run and draw some physical objects and then bring them close to other geometries and see how the field of those objects interact if you know what I mean ?
