TL;DR
Do any organizations run mathematical models that predict weather and also incorporate data from amateur weather stations?
I have the impression (I've not actually researched the matter) that some online weather services publish data from weather stations set up by amateurs. Do any organizations incorporate such data in their weather prediction models? I'd think that using such data would involve a sophisticated analysis of whether the data itself was reliable.

Middle and high schools (secondary schools) in New Mexico have a program for setting up a school weather station. The data is kept and forwarded - the station has strict specifications IIRC, depending on what it does. There are vendors for kits. It is under the auspices of NOAA. I think it is kept as part of the microclimatic data set.

Here is one not far from where I live in NM - bosque is the Spanish term for the gallery forest along the Rio Grande river.
