A warm welcome to PF :welcome:

In order to help you start, the following are the three main sections in PF. You should explore them well:

1. The main forums, that you see in the first page.

2. Insights Blog, available at the top row (header section). In short, they have been described as "wonder of the web". The blog contains articles that help in learning topics to a great extent.

3. The Videos, also available in the header section. The media gallery now has some great videos and lecture courses in almost every field in science, and they provide an audio-visual learning opportunity.

Enjoy your time here.

With regards,
Wrichik.

Great will check them out as you suggested Wrichik!

By the way do you know any tips to making a thread more noticeable, does getting trophies help?

Not really. The only thing you can do is to make your subject line intriguing (but do NOT make it incorrect relative to your question)

We have a HUGE number of active members so very few posts go unanswered.

In addition to what @phinds has said, let me add that trophies don't influence the help you get on this site. Just make sure that when your thread gets a reply and the person asks you something or suggests you to work out something on your own and post the solution, don't hesitate to answer them. We believe in cooperative problem solving. You might be questioned so that what you are asking becomes clear. Or you may be asked to do some work and post the solution, whereby it will be clear whether you understand the concept or not.

If you face any problem, you can send a private message to any Mentor. Just click on the username and Start a conversation.

If you find some post in a thread that is inappropriate, report it using the "Report" option below the post.

Hope that you have a long and strong relation with PF

Hi thank you Wrichik!

I actually recently saw your post about ammonia being a weak or strong field ligand, and was wondering if you knew anything about how to calculate charge densities of ligands in complex ions? I have a question regarding it in a thread I started! If you know anything please reply!

Jappy

I had seen your question the day you had posted it, but I don't have any idea regarding charge density of ligands. Hope that other members will help you out soon.
