The discussion revolves around solving various mathematical equations and inequalities, including √x² + 1 + √x² – 2x + 3 = 3 and |x-4| - 2 - 0.5x ≤ 3. Participants emphasize the importance of showing work when seeking help, as they are willing to assist but not complete the work for others. There is also a note on the correct notation for exponents, suggesting users utilize the formatting tools available in the forum. Clear communication and proper mathematical formatting are essential for effective assistance.

√x2 + 1 + √x2 – 2x + 3 = 3

│ x-4 │ - │ 2–0,5x│ ≤ 3

│5- x2-6 │= x2-5x-6

x2-2x+3 : x2-4x+3 > -2

First, show us the work you have done to solve these equations and inequalities. We're willing to help, but not willing to do your work for you.

Second, you have several expressions written as x2. Is this supposed to be x2? When you're posting something, click Go Advanced, and the menu bar just above the text entry area has a button that inserts the tags for exponents. Use this button to write exponents.

Question: A clock's minute hand has length 4 and its hour hand has length 3. What is the distance between the tips at the moment when it is increasing most rapidly?(Putnam Exam Question) Answer: Making assumption that both the hands moves at constant angular velocities, the answer is ## \sqrt{7} .## But don't you think this assumption is somewhat doubtful and wrong?
