How did you find PF?
I was always looking for sites where I could ask questions and learn new things. So I searched for it and gladly found.
Hello everyone,

I am 17 years old and will soon start an apprenticeship in mechatronics and automation technology.
Back in school, physics was taught in a very dry and superficial way. That’s why it bored and demotivated me. There was hardly any opportunity to dive deeper into the topics, which is extremely important to me. The deeper, the better. But as soon as I asked or wanted to delve deeper into the world of the topic, I was immediately stopped from doing so.

But in the meantime, my perspective on it has completely changed. The more I engage with physics on my own, the more I realize how exciting and important it is not only for my profession but also for understanding the world as a whole.

Physics has become a real hobby for me. I don’t just want to know the basics; I want to go deep and learn as much as I possibly can.

While looking for a community to exchange ideas and learn more, I came across this forum and I’m really glad to be here. I hope I can discover new things and fill my brain with physics.

Thanks for reading:)

I must admit I thought manga when I read mechatronics  . Sorry for the wikilink. FYI linking to wiki is more than frowned upon on this forum, but I may get away with it in this instance, I hope), but it's obviously a real STEM discipline!

Welcome!

Wikipedia is okay for simple introductory stuff. For more technical discussions it's best to link to the peer-reviewed literature.

Well, you may have misunderstood something. Just because I'm doing an apprenticeship in mechatronics doesn't mean that's why I'm here.
Physics is a hobby that I am teaching myself.
Additionally.

I think @berkeman 's comment was mostly directed at me, explaining that wiki-links are OK for less important stuff. Otherwise it's peer-reviewed journals! :woot:

It's all good. Don't think about it. I think we've exhausted this thread. But seriously: Welcome!
