As a former NASCAR driver & crew chief for a little over 10 years, I was always looking up new info on topics that were generally hard to find. Occasionally I would find answers, or at least discussions on the PF site.

I currently do quite a bit of field work that involves testing I-Beams and anchor rods, so I thought I'd ask a few questions in relation to the work I do & see what comes back. Much of the time, we have to rely on various other engineering firms to determine our test parameters, so my current interest is in double-checking the figures we get back.

Btw, the racing section on this site is pretty well versed- I've read all of the books that I've seen referenced, and the instructor knows his stuff. My expertise is on paved track set-ups & it's interesting to see an honest Q&A because racers rarely want to share their secrets to competitors.

Welcome to the PF family. Hope that you'll have a nice time here, and also contribute positively to the site!

Hello fellow Physics enthusiasts, I am an aeronautical engineering graduate (Bachelor's) who is interested in Physics and Mathematics, and I have been re-learning all the basics. I wanted to join a science forum, especially one dedicated to Physics and maths, to apply these subjects to my engineering studies. I hope to learn a lot through this forum. Thank you for your warm welcome.
