In summary, the conversation discusses the topic of Nigeria being known as the best mathematicians in the world, which was told to the person by their friend. However, this claim is false and there is no evidence to support it. The conversation ends with the conclusion that the friend may have given incorrect information.

While I'm sure there are bright Nigerian mathematicians out there, the assertion is false. There are no more bright Nigerian mathematicians than mathematicians of another country. And I see no reason why Nigerian mathematicians should be the best.

In fact, I know not a single Nigerian mathematician (that doesn't mean they don't exist though).

I think it's safe to say your friend duped you.
