Around how many Sv would a nuclear engineer receive annually? How fatal would it be?
The discussion revolves around the radiation exposure risks faced by nuclear engineers, exploring the annual dose of radiation they might receive and its potential health impacts. Participants consider various work environments, including corporate offices, nuclear power plants, uranium mines, and the effects of natural background radiation.
Participants generally agree that radiation exposure for nuclear engineers can be low, particularly for those not directly involved with radioactive materials. However, there are competing views regarding the extent of exposure based on different job functions, and the discussion remains unresolved on the specifics of annual exposure levels.
Limitations include varying definitions of exposure levels, the impact of specific job roles, and the influence of environmental factors such as construction materials and cosmic radiation during flights.
The exposure would depend on the work one does. If one worked in a corporate office, it would be the same as anyone in most offices doing other jobs.Legendofdeep said:Around how many Sv would a nuclear engineer receive annually? How fatal would it be?
