Does anyone have some good recommendations for basic nuclear physics books? I'm not particularly fussed about the detailed maths at the moment but I'm mostly searching for books on neutron radiation and the interaction of different neutron temperatures with different materials. Also anything on the affects of radiation on stable materials and how they can sometimes also become radioactive.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Well if you want to know about the passage of radiation through matter, Emilio Segré's ,"Nuclei and Particles", has a long chapter on it. It is rather interesting, although copies may not be that readily available (try eBay, amazon , or Abebooks.)
