AI Thread Summary
The discussion explores the concept of opposites in physical terms, questioning what could be considered the opposite of mass, pressure, space, and momentum. It suggests that while some concepts may not have direct opposites, they can be understood in terms of their effects or related phenomena, like brakes for speed. The conversation also touches on the idea that many physical properties exist on a scale, raising questions about their limits and what lies beyond them. The notion of negative mass is introduced as a thought-provoking idea without a clear opposite. Ultimately, the thread emphasizes the philosophical nature of these inquiries rather than strict physics.

Also what do you think the opposite of mass is?

What about pressure? Would you say the opposite of that is resistance?

How about space? Is that opposition occupancy, or may be volume?

What about momentum? Wtfluff is the opposite of that? If even. May be odd

These are certainly not physics hwk questions. Just things i wonder of

Why do things have to have opposites?

I would suppose everything comes on a scale, so what is the extent of that scale is what I am really asking, does speed just end up not moving in its most reciprocal state or does it act differently when down that low?

Some scales start at zero and may or may not have an upper limit.
Speed, temperature, mass, gravity etc.

For some things, it's nonsensical to talk about what might be beyond their limits. eg. what's North of the North Pole?

Granted, thinking outside limits can be inspirational, such as what would the properties of negative mass be like?

I feel as this thing itself may not have an opposite. But the effect it causes can. Like there's no opposite of speed but there's an opposite to a moving vehicle, and that's where brakes play the role, or on a moving human it is the amount of traction.

Maybe inertia is "opposite" to movement?

The OP is right when he says these are not physics questions.
