SUMMARY

The discussion centers around the concept of Over Unity magnetic generators, which claim to achieve more than 100% efficiency. Participants express skepticism regarding the feasibility of such devices, equating Over Unity with perpetual motion, a concept widely regarded as impossible. The thread was ultimately locked due to the forum's strict rules against speculative or crackpot theories. The mention of two Australian individuals claiming to have a working model has not been substantiated with credible evidence.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of thermodynamics and the laws of energy conservation
  • Familiarity with the principles of magnetism and electromagnetic theory
  • Knowledge of the scientific method and critical thinking skills
  • Awareness of common misconceptions in physics, particularly regarding perpetual motion
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the laws of thermodynamics, particularly the first and second laws
  • Explore the principles of magnetism and their applications in energy generation
  • Study historical claims of perpetual motion machines and their scientific refutations
  • Investigate current advancements in energy efficiency technologies and their limitations
USEFUL FOR

Physics enthusiasts, engineers, inventors, and anyone interested in the feasibility of alternative energy solutions and the scientific principles governing energy efficiency.

Anybody know anything about Over Unity magnetic generators?
Is such a concept possible. Two Australian guys seem to have something that works??

Two Australian guys are TELLING you they have something that works. The words Over Unity usually mean more than 100% efficient which is impossible.

Crackpot discussions are not allowed here on the PF. Over unit = perpetual motion. Please re-read the PF Rules by following the "Rules" link at the top of the page.

Most likely this can only be answered by an "old timer". I am making measurements on an uA709 op amp (metal can). I would like to calculate the frequency rolloff curves (I can measure them). I assume the compensation is via the miller effect. To do the calculations I would need to know the gain of the transistors and the effective resistance seen at the compensation terminals, not including the values I put there. Anyone know those values?
