Passive vibration suppression using piezoelectric elements?

AI Thread Summary
Passive vibration suppression using piezoelectric elements can be achieved through a resistive shunt connected to piezoelectric materials, which effectively dampens bending vibrations in flexible structures. This method utilizes piezoelectric electromechanical transducers in conjunction with optimally tuned LR circuits for enhanced performance. While detailed information is scarce outside of paid academic papers, the concept is supported by research available on platforms like Science Direct. Further exploration and study are encouraged to fully understand the mechanics and applications of this technique. Continued investigation into this area may yield valuable insights for practical implementation.

I am looking at one idea to passive vibration supression that involves "a resistive shunt to a piezoelectric material" but I can not find a lot of info outside of papers that I would have to pay for. does anyone know and can explain some detail about this method?

I see what you mean, but I will keep looking.
(P.S., That is the biggest abstract I could find but that is obviously not all of it).
