AI Thread Summary
Users are experiencing various issues with the PF platform, including security error messages, problems accessing notifications, and notifications for already read messages reappearing. Refreshing the page often temporarily resolves these issues, but they tend to recur. Clearing the browser cache has helped some users restore normal functionality, although others still report ongoing problems. Different browsers yield varying experiences, with some users finding that switching browsers alleviates issues. Overall, the site appears to be facing significant instability, prompting users to report their experiences and seek solutions.

I tried to sign off and in again in a normal tab but I can't find where to sign off. It looks like I am signed in for life. 😉
If you can see a USER menu at the top of the page, open it. It's just below your profile picture. If you're on mobile the USER menu may not be visible. For me it appears in landscape mode, but even in portrait it's there and clickable - just invisible. It's just to the left of the envelope icon for conversations.

I tried to upload a screenshot, but attach files doesn't seem to be working, at least not for me @Greg Bernhardt.

Ok, works this time. Just a glitch, apparently.

The unmarked square to the left of the envelope is where you need to tap.

Did you clear browser cache and log out and back in?
No, but I did just now, even though I don't see any problems. We'll see.
Everything seems normal now.

Well, that wasn't such a chore, now was it?

Thank you. I found how to log off from the phone in normal mode.

Unfortunately it does not solve the problem for me. I can go to these topics (like introductory homework help) only on incognito mode.

I have just cleared the site data for PF, and logged in. I still find that some of the links on the main page don't work (e.g. Classical Physics and the link to this Feedback page). It just goes back to the main page.

In order to reach this page and post this message I had to use a trick that I sometimes use to get past cache problems : I appended a dummy query parameter to the url, like: https://www.physicsforums.com/forums/feedback-and-announcements.19?site=flaky

I have the same problem.

I had the same problem on the initial day and since clearing the cached files, it has been back to normal. Something on your PC or network is not clearing the files.

Did you clear only the site data or also the cached files? I think the cached files are more important.

After posting that, I tried clearing the browser cache as well. Still the same.

Ok, my bad... I just noticed the dropdown that lists "last hour" through to "all time" that controls the scope of deletion. I set it to "all time" and tried again... All OK now.

Good. Because you only had one solution left:

I didn't do anything, but kept checking to see if it was fixed. Glad to say that the website is back to normal today :)
