Physical significance of Volumetric Flux

  1. Mar 2, 2015 #1
    1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data
I am just a little bit confused. I have a question that is asking me to explain what the physical significance of volumetric flux is.

    2. Relevant equations
I am not sure that this problem requires any equations!

    3. The attempt at a solution
I know that the flux corresponds to the rate of volume flow through an area, but I feel like that can't be the answer.. It just seems to common sense to be the answer.

What are the units of volume flow per unit area? This should give you the answer to your problem regarding the physical interpretation of volumetric flux.
