AI Thread Summary
A plane crashed into a 50-story building in Manhattan, resulting in two confirmed deaths. Initial reports indicate it was a small aircraft, though it remains unclear whether it was a helicopter or a fixed-wing plane. The incident is currently being treated as an accident. Live coverage is available on Yahoo News, and there are concerns about the safety of pedestrians in the area at the time of the crash. Firefighters responded quickly and effectively to contain the flames. The crash has been linked to Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle, who was identified as one of the deceased.

I just found a news feed on YahooNews that says a plane crashed into a 50-story building in Manhattan, but there were few details, and I don't have cable and the networks haven't broken into daytime television. Apparently it was a small craft, and it has not been determined if it was a 'copter or fixed-wing.

Wow! I can't even imagine the fear the people would've felt walking down that road.

What a shame, and how very scary for the people of NYC. The fire-fighters did a fantastic job. Not only getting there quickly, but containing it so fast.
