SUMMARY

To pursue a master's degree in engineering, specifically in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, a bachelor's degree in Mathematics is insufficient. A foundational background in physics or engineering is essential due to the prerequisite courses required for advanced study. Many universities offer a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering, which is a more direct path. Transitioning from a BSc in Mathematics to a master's in engineering would necessitate extensive additional coursework in physics and related sciences.

PREREQUISITES
  • Bachelor's degree in Physics or Engineering
  • Understanding of prerequisite courses in physics and science
  • Knowledge of BSc programs in Mechanical Engineering
  • Familiarity with the requirements for master's programs in engineering
NEXT STEPS
  • Research universities offering BSc in Mechanical Engineering
  • Explore the curriculum for prerequisite courses in physics
  • Investigate the transition process from Mathematics to Engineering master's programs
  • Learn about the admissions criteria for engineering graduate programs
USEFUL FOR

Prospective students considering a career in engineering, particularly those with a background in Mathematics, and individuals seeking to understand the academic pathways to Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.

I'm planning on going to USA in school. If I take BSc in Mathematics is it possible for me to go to Aerospace engineering as major or Mechanical? I have searched many schools and some of them teach Mechanical as BSc. But if I will not get into school that teaches Mechanical engineering can I take BSc in Mathematics and go on from there?

Sorry I'm not so good in english but I hope you get what I'm trying to say :)

Getting a master's degree in engineering will be difficult with just a bachelor's in mathematics. There would be a prohibitive amount of catch-up needed for prerequisite classes in physics and science.

To get a master's in enginering, you'll need a bachelor's in physics or engineering.
