SUMMARY

The discussion centers on plotting IV curves for solar panels using software tools. LTSpice is recommended as a viable option for this purpose, allowing users to input parameters such as open circuit voltage, short circuit current, maximum power, maximum current, voltage, and efficiency. While LTSpice may not provide an instant solution, it effectively demonstrates how various photovoltaic cell parameters influence the IV curve. Engaging with the community for further assistance is encouraged for those willing to put in effort.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of photovoltaic cell parameters (open circuit voltage, short circuit current, etc.)
  • Familiarity with LTSpice software for circuit simulation
  • Basic knowledge of IV curve characteristics in solar panels
  • Ability to interpret simulation results and adjust parameters accordingly
NEXT STEPS
  • Explore advanced features of LTSpice for photovoltaic simulations
  • Research equivalent circuit models for photovoltaic cells
  • Learn about different software options for solar panel IV curve analysis
  • Investigate methods to optimize solar panel efficiency based on IV curve data
USEFUL FOR

Solar energy engineers, researchers in photovoltaic technology, and anyone involved in solar panel performance analysis will benefit from this discussion.

hi Guys,
can anyone suggest me some software by which i can plot IV curve for solar panels by just feeding in open circuit voltage, short circuit current, max power, max current and voltage, efficiency.

Download LTSpice and use the equivalent circuit of a photovoltaic cell as your starting point. It might not be the magic pill solution you hoped for but it'll give you a good feel for how the various parameters that characterize a pv cell affect the IV curve.

If you show some effort I'll help you later when I have time.
