Converting Radians to Surds: A Helpful Table for Complex Number Calculations?

Click For Summary
A user is seeking a resource for converting radians to surds, specifically examples like tan^-1(-1) = -Pi/4 and cos(-pi/6) = root3/2. They are looking for a table or data that provides these conversions for complex number calculations. A helpful link to a trigonometry table is shared, and users are encouraged to perform a Google search for "Trigonometry tables" for additional resources. The discussion emphasizes the need for accessible conversion tools in mathematics.

Hi There,

Can someone please tell me where I can find a table/ data that converts radians to surds. I don't know what to call it but, for instance to tan^-1(-1) = -Pi/4 and, cos(-pi/6) = root3/2 ?

Thank you :)

Question: A clock's minute hand has length 4 and its hour hand has length 3. What is the distance between the tips at the moment when it is increasing most rapidly?(Putnam Exam Question) Answer: Making assumption that both the hands moves at constant angular velocities, the answer is ## \sqrt{7} .## But don't you think this assumption is somewhat doubtful and wrong?
